Bulk fill dirt for raising and leveling grade

What Is Fill Dirt?

Fill dirt is subsoil used to add volume and bring a site up to grade. It is the material you move when a site needs to be raised, a low or sunken area filled, or a utility trench backfilled. For structural, load-bearing areas under pads and pavement, projects use spec-controlled select fill instead; for general bulk volume and rough grading, common fill and fill dirt do the job at lower cost.

How we source & deliver it

Most fill dirt in Texas comes from sites that are exporting spoils, a grading operation on one side of the metro generating material another project needs. We track active export sites daily, match clean material to your order, and coordinate the trucking so loads arrive on cadence. One point of contact handles dispatch and keeps your site superintendent in the loop, and we also haul off surplus dirt when your site is the one exporting.

Bulk volumes, commercial schedules

We supply fill dirt in the volumes commercial earthwork requires and plan haul routes to keep per-load costs down across a metro that can stretch 100 miles wide. Not sure how much you need? Use our soil calculator to estimate cubic yards and truckloads.

Fill Dirt FAQ

Is fill dirt the same as topsoil?
No. Fill dirt is subsoil for adding volume and raising grade; topsoil is the organic-rich top layer used for finish grade and landscaping. Most projects use fill dirt to build up and topsoil to finish.
Can fill dirt go under a building pad?
Load-bearing areas should use spec-controlled select fill. Fill dirt is for non-structural volume, raising grade, backfill, and filling low areas.
How much fill dirt do I need?
Use our soil calculator to estimate cubic yards, tons, and truckloads, then send us the numbers for a firm quote.
