Crushed Concrete & Road Base in Texas
Crushed concrete and flexible road base are the compactable aggregates that build drives, laydown yards, and stabilized site access, and the cost-effective, recycled option for sub-base. Soil Depot delivers road base and recycled crushed concrete in commercial volumes across DFW, Austin, San Antonio, and Houston.

Road Base & Crushed Concrete
Flexible base is the compactable crushed-stone layer that forms the structural foundation under roads, drives, and pavements. Recycled crushed concrete is reclaimed concrete processed back into a gradable, compactable aggregate, a strong, lower-cost, and more sustainable alternative to virgin stone for base course, stabilized access, and laydown areas.
Specified to TxDOT flexible base
Road base for paving and structural sub-base is commonly specified to TxDOT Item 247 “Flexible Base.” Item 247 explicitly allows crushed concrete as a base material type, with grades defined by Plasticity Index and Liquid Limit caps (Grade 1-2: PI ≤ 10, LL ≤ 40) and compaction to 100% of maximum dry density. We source the grade and material type your plans call for.
Stabilized access & laydown
Beyond finished pavement, crushed concrete and base are how sites build temporary haul roads, equipment laydown yards, and all-weather access that keeps trucks moving on soft Texas ground. We deliver in bulk and dispatch to your schedule.
